Mr. Rentz has an extensive background in commercial and residential real estate throughout the continental United States, Hawaii and Canada. During his career in commercial real estate Mr. Rentz has been directly involved in the acquisition, development and financing of projects and transactions totaling more than $500M. His strong business background began in public accounting and migrated to business ownership and real estate investments where he refined his financial management and development skill sets. Throughout his career, Mr. Rentz has delivered high quality work product on paper and in the field to achieve uncommon results.

Mr. Rentz co-founded GenMark Property Group, LLC and GenMark Capital, LLC in 2013 with W. Todd Menke. GMPG is a development company focused on commercial and residential real estate throughout Florida and select southeastern U.S. markets. GenMark Capital, LLC, is a Florida based private equity firm designed to complement existing development and identify other real estate opportunities.

Since 2002 Mr. Rentz and his companies have invested in and/or developed office, medical, hospitality, multifamily, retail and daycare properties throughout the continental United States, Canada and Hawaii. Mr. Rentz was responsible for overseeing all the company’s operational aspects including underwriting, estimating, financial structuring, contract negotiation, and accounting.

Mr. Rentz graduated from Michigan State University in 1988 with a B.A. in Accounting. He and his family have resided in Sarasota, Florida since 2005. Mr. Rentz spent nearly 40 years in Rochester, Michigan before relocating his business and family to Sarasota in 2005. Since moving to Sarasota, he has been active in the community as a volunteer youth basketball and football coach and as a member of Church of the Palms in Sarasota.
